GOODBYE BUSINESS & ACCOUNTING SOLUTIONS
Those observant ones among you, and perhaps even those who aren’t, will have noticed a different “look” about our newsletter this time. There are a couple of reasons for this.

New Associates
I am delighted to be able to announce that as from 1 April 2008, George Flannery and Mark Tait will join the practice as Associates. This is the first step towards them becoming Directors in the next couple of years, and the conversion of our office from a dictatorship to some form of democracy.

New Name
With a change in the makeup of the “front row”, we considered it an appropriate time to look at the name of our practice and how we present ourselves. We all thought a “rebrand” was in order, so this was developed with the thought it would need to be easily adapted as further changes take place in the future.

We were fortunate to be able to involve Emma and Katie from [t-b] tickety-boo-nz-ideaz who have helped and guided us through the process. Not quite a Trinny and Susannah makeover, but at times it came close!

Some Changes
While the name and the decoration has changed, inside we are still pretty much the same. As part of the process of spreading the workload further amongst the three of us, there will be some changes in client/advisor relationships as the first point of call.

This process is not going to happen immediately and the intent is to transfer responsibilities over the next couple of years. We will be talking to those clients who will be affected in the short term to ensure everyone's needs are met by any proposed changes.

My intent is to eventually work with clients on non compliance activities exclusively. This can only be achieved by freeing up some of my time. I would also like to spend some of my time in the Spicers part of our activities as given the furore surrounding the Financial Services Industry at present, there is some demand for those Advisors who are not “tainted” by the recent Finance Company failures, to help out investors who have issues with their present advisors.

Come and Celebrate
We are celebrating the occasion with drinks and nibbles from 5.30pm to 7pm at the Alexandra Golf Club on Thursday the 3rd of April. Both you and your partner are welcome to join us, we would appreciate if you could contact us with numbers of attendees by Tuesday the 1st of April as we don’t want to be embarrassed by running out of food.

Other Stuff
Thanks to those who have returned the Client Engagement letters. Much appreciated. Reminders are in the mail for those who haven’t.

We are getting ready for the beginning of the new “season”. Those of you who have got stock to count will get a gentle reminder very soon. The questionnaires will be sent around mid April.

We are looking forward to catching up with you.

Hugh

BIG IS GOOD
We had a tent at both the Omakau & Mt Benger shows this season, where we had the opportunity to see many clients outside of the office. The ever so popular “Guess the Jelly Bean” competition this year saw Cam Wheeler of Alexandra win a night for two at Dock Bay Lodge in Te Anau.

At the Mt Benger show our winner of the jelly bean guess was Angela Compton of Roxburgh. Angela won a three day Rail Trail Experience for Two with Trail Journeys. Congratulations to you both.

Our big guy (George Flannery) met the Mitre 10 big guy at the Mt Benger show. The crowd enjoyed watching Levi put George through his paces lifting a large truck tyre, end to end. Not as easy as Levi made it look!

AROUND THE OFFICE
Congratulations to Maxine who became a Nana over the Easter Break. Rather than waiting on the Easter Bunny to deliver his goodies, Maxine and her daughter Linda welcomed the Stork instead, with their own little treasure. Welcome to baby Jada.

Ellen takes off in mid April for a week with the Rotary Youth Leadership camp which is to be held in Invercargill. Hope you have a great week Ellen.
